Small Business CRM + Marketing Automation Made Easier
Hatchbuck is a small business marketer’s best friend. That’s why customers rewarded this combo CRM and marketing automation platform the highest customer satisfaction ratings in 2015.
Hatchbuck is a SaaS that offers affordable, simple tools for smart email marketing and sales pipeline management. In our recent past history as a full service digital marketing consultancy, Left Hook implemented and integrated Hatchbuck for several client projects, and became a member of Hatchbuck’s Partner Program in 2015.
Client Challenges
Though somewhat unique in its feature set, startup Hatchbuck still competes with bigger services like Pardot, Salesforce, Hubspot, and Zoho, all of which had a significant head start on developing and supporting integrations.
Like any SaaS trying to be the best at its own knitting, Hatchbuck realized that it needed to find a shortcut to integrating with the rest. That’s why they engaged Left Hook to build out a Zapier Global App.
Left Hook’s Solution
After building a custom direct integration for another client using Hatchbuck’s then-beta API, CEO Don Breckenridge and CTO Mathew Rhodes recognized our passion and ability to program for APIs, as well as our interest in eventually using an iPaaS to get the job done.
That’s why they asked Left Hook to build a set of integrations on Zapier, a developer’s express lane to thousands of possible integrations with over 650 other B2B apps.
Left Hook’s experience managing inbound and drip email campaigns with Hatchbuck helped us quickly determine the potential use cases that best fit their “data in” API model. We settled on enabling two Actions, one to add a new contact to the CRM, and another to add tags to existing contacts.
With these Actions ready for beta testing, we worked with Hatchbuck to deploy their new Developer App in Invite-Only mode for a few months of testing and behavioral feedback.
Once ready for widespread use, we helped Hatchbuck apply to “Go Global” on the Zapier system. This included assisting in the creation of the first of eight “Shared Zaps,” and writing the “How to Get Started with Hatchbuck and Zapier” document.
Positive Result
Hatchbuck’s Zapier presence went live in March 2016 with 30 Shared Zaps including these super-useful combos:
Google Docs, Eventbrite, Quickbooks, Paypal, Wufoo, Stripe, SurveyMonkey, TypeForm, Woocommerce, Formstack… In a short time, Hatchbuck’s integrations moved from a handful to several hundred, thanks to the power of the Zapier platform.
